Collective Agreements

What is a Collective Agreement?

Our Collective Agreement sets out our rights and responsibilities at work. It is a contract between the Canadian Union of Public Employees – which represents us – and our Employer..

We are CUPE Local 2926, and our Collective Agreement governs our workplace. Even the Employer must abide by it.

When there is a dispute regarding the interpretation of the language in the Collective Agreement, a grievance is the result. A grievance simply means that you do not agree.

If you believe you have a grievance, please talk to your steward or a member of the executive. More often than not, your grievance can help other members who may be facing the same problem.
